Headmaster - James Twardowski

Jim Twardowski joined the BCA administrative team as Headmaster on July 1, 2017, after his retirement from Sheldon ISD.  He brings 33 years of experience as a classroom teacher, coach, and administrator to BCA.  Mr. Twardowski’s administrative career began as an assistant principal at Horace Mann Junior High in 1997. Other administrative roles he has performed include junior school principal (Horace Mann), high school principal (C.E. King High School), director of athletics (Sheldon ISD), and administrative services (Sheldon ISD).  Prior to becoming an administrator, Mr. Twardowski taught and coached for 13 years at Blocker Middle School (Texas City), Texas City High School, and Ross S. Sterling High School.

Mr. Twardowski is a native of Highlands, TX and attended Goose Creek CISD schools, graduating from Ross S. Sterling High School in 1979. He holds an undergraduate degree from Texas Christian University (Class of 1983) and a Master’s Degree in Educational Management from the University of Houston – Clear Lake (1991).

Including Christian beliefs and principles into the educational process is what makes BCA a special place.  In order to maintain personal stability and endure the challenges which life brings, we need a strong faith in God, a strong personal character, and a great education.  BCA provides its students an environment to obtain all those qualities.”

College Liaison - Dr. Gary Holmes

Gary Holmes, Ed.D. has been the college liaison and chemistry/conceptual physics teacher for the past five years.  As the BCA college liaison, he works closely with students and parents as they prepare for career and college. In his classes, he emphasizes activity-based science instruction which allows his students to enjoy and experience the wonders of science while developing a strong science foundation.

Dr. Holmes has 41 years of educational experience including: Sunday school teacher; junior/senior high school science teacher, coach, and assistant principal, community college instructor, and university adjacent professor.  He is an avid birdwatcher and enjoys nature and outdoor activities.

“I enjoy learning about the magnificence of God’s Creation and teaching about all things science and nature related. It has been a blessing to teach science to the wonderful students at BCA and to assist our students in their college preparation and selection.”


Athletic Director - Terry Gray

Coach Gray is in his first year as BCA Athletic Director and has 30 years of coaching experience at the high school and collegiate levels.  

I am very excited to be a part of the BCA family and am looking forward to a great year-GO BULLDOGS!
